well the only solution is to send it to a service centre.
If its still covered under warranty send it back to the place where you purchased it.

you've just done a google search, if you look close none of them relate to the title
let me tell you viruses nowdays are miss understood by the medical virus

technicaly the worst virus can do to a home computer is slow down your pc, or remove a windows file
so you cant boot or block the "explorer.exe" from showing and provides you with its own interface

there is not virus that can delete your drivers, mute or stops it. its possible to make which will
be extremly hard and there is no point for making a virus that stops sound apart if the maker is
realy an idiot, they'de rather have your whole pc crash than just sound.

so next time, when its a device hardware issue..its nothing to do with scanning for viruses.
its simply re-installing the latest one from the pc or laptop's website or doing a fresh copy of your OS.

A computer program can be made to do anything to your PC. Its simple to make a sound card not work. Just write a program to delete one of the sound card's driver files (or else delete registry keys) the driver will not load. Plus if you attach worm capabilities to such a program it will spread. The anti virus scanner may not detect it as a virus because virus scanners can only detect already known viruses.
