Hitachi le55u516 lost it's backlighting.

I have a Hitachi le55u516 LED TV that is less than two years old. The backlights have failed. The picture is visible up close, when shining a flashlight close to the screen. What part or board causes this issue??

its unlikely to be a board. you need to find which led is out and replace it. This requires disassembly of the panel to get at the leds which if you aren't able to do this yourself, is usually an expensive service cost which most people won't go for.
