OK so i have been messing around with my setup and cables trying to get my home cinema set working on all my devices and media.

A list of my media:

Home cinema set: Philips HTB5580G
TV: LG 49UF675V (2 hdmi ports)
setupbox: Samsung SMT C7140
Xbox one

So i have my xbox one and home cinema set connected via HDMI to my TV.
My setup box connected to my xbox via HDMI to watch tv via my xbox.
My xbox one and home cinema set are connected via optical cable.

So currently all of my media is working with surround sound 5.1 through all of my speakers, except if i watch tv via my xbox then the two rear poles/speakers arent giving any sound.

Only thing i havent tried is to connect my setupbox with a extra optical cable to my tv but im not sure if that will do anything.

What do i need to change to make the two rear speakers work when i watch tv via my xbox.

You can pull the optical cable from the Xbox and connect it to the set top box to see if that works. Check the audio menus on the set top box and Xbox to make sure they are set for surround output.
You can't connect optical into the TV (only has optical out).
An alternate hookup is to connect the HTS to the TV with optical out. Set the TV output for surround. Leave the set top/Xbox as is.

Tried this and it didnt work so that made it sure the issue was on the setupbox.

I was playing around a bit more in the sound settings, and i set the option to ''NO'' for automatic sound regulation it was on ''Yes'' after this i have DBS on on my listed media :)
