Hello all -

I have scoured the internet, called the manufacturers, and even dialed up a local company for guidance and no one has been able to help me (except telling me that I have to either upgrade or live with it the way it is). I wanted to give it one last shot here.

I recently connected a Vizio M470VT tv to a SONY Blu-Ray Home Theater System BDV-E280. The TV is a few years old and I don't believe it's ARC compliant.

I was able to successfully connect the TV to the home theater system. I used an HDMI cord and an a digital audio (optical) cable. When playing a Blu-Ray, I can see video and and hear the audio fine.

My problem comes when I tried to take it to the next step. I plugged my cable box and Amazon Fire TV Stick directly into the Sony Home Theater System (they have 2 HDMI in ports). I was able to see the video from both, but I could not hear the audio from either (on the TV or through the speakers). I fiddled with the connections on both, but nothing seemed to work.

Anyone have any ideas or am I hosed? Thanks in advance.

Sean
