hook vcr up to tv

My vcr has red yellow and white outputs and I have the matching cord. My element tv has red white green blue and no yellow. How do I connect them? Using a cable isn't working.

Can you post either your TV's exact model number, or a pic of the inputs?

Many TVs have a shared component video (3 RCA jacks) and composite video (1 RCA jack). You would have to select composite video in the TV menu. Check the owners manual.
If your TV doesn't then you would need a composite video plus audio to HDMI converter. I don't think you can find a composite to component converter.
