Hooking speakers up to my projector for consoles / anything else

Hey all. My projector is Epson VS33SW.

What im looking to do is have speakers connected to it indefinitely. When I plug in laptop, console gaming device or any HDMI input I want the sound to come through speakers. However i have no 3.5mm jack on the projector and I only have RCA audio. I tried a RCA to 3.5mm output but no sound at all. Anyone have ideas? Would greatly appreciate...

Suggest you get an HDMI input selector with audio extraction like this one

Your speakers do have to be self powered (or you need an amp).
This is a fixed output so you will also need to be able to adjust the volume at the speakers.
