hooking up wi to surround sound and tv both

We recently got rid of cable and went to just streaming our movies through the internet. We do this by using the wii console and wifi. My problem is that I want to watch movies on my surround sound but when the kids play the wii I prefer not to have the surround sound on, just the tv. is there any way of doing this?

You can connect the wii directly to the TV. Then connect the audio out of the TV to your surround sound system.
When you don't want sound from the TV turn the TV volume down all the way (this will not affect the volume of the surround sound).
When you only want TV sound turn off the surround system and turn the TV volume up.
