How can I get Speedfan to work constantly without any user input?

I have a computer that runs on the warm side and want to give it to a computer user who is a newbie. I don't what him to worry about remembering to run Speedfan, so I want to set it to run automatically. I tried putting the shortcut in the startup folder but windows wouldn't start it.

I can fix many computers, but I am not informed enough to mess with the registry.

Have you tried using the task scheduler?
