how can I hear the sound from external hard drive connected to tv usb ports sending sound to the home theatre aux option

my home theatre is a phillips 5.1
it does not have an optical input.i have my hard drive connected to the usb ports on the tv and i need the sound from the hard drive files that I play on the home theatre...how can I recieve this sound from the tv usb which is a samsung 5 series lcd, has 3 usb inputs.

Without makes and model numbers you won't get an exact answer.
The number of USB ports on the TV isn't relevant.
You need to connect the audio output of the TV to the HTS. If the TV has a headphone jack or analog audio output then connect that to the HTS aux input.
If the TV has an optical digital audio out (most common) then you will need a DAC to convert to analog

Check that the TV can be set to output in PCM, Some TVs won't send audio from USB sources out of the TV at all.
Check the TV manual how to use the optical audio output.
