I got "Bill Cosby'd" by Microsoft with Windows 10. I kept saying "NO", but they did it to.me while I slept.

It is possible to deny those requests. The upgrade is listed a a scheduled event and you can cancel it. You could always roll back to 7 or 8. Windows 10 isn't that bad though. If you add this http://www.classicshell.net/ and do a little more jiggery-pokery you may not even notice much of a difference. In response to the question, no, you cannot sue Microsoft for updating their software the license says they have a right to update especially when it was preventable.

You are correct. Removing the automatically downloaded file that put that reminder icon in the system tray has gotten rid of the icon for me, and seemingly also any threat of Windows 10 being automatically downloaded to my laptop.
