How can I tell if my Asus x205t if it's the power cord/tip or the jack it plugs into

You don't state what your problem is. Laptop not charging? If you have a voltmeter, you can check the cord's connector to see if there is voltage there. Usually 19V, but some are as low as 4v. Either way, there should be voltage at the connector between center and shell.
