Is there a way to tell if the Microsoft Windows Defender program closed itself fully before a PC shutdown in Windows 10?

I'm asking because I'm trying to pin down the cause of this:

(I had a theory that, if it's possible (perhaps due to lack of resources) for WD to run out of time to close at shutdown, maybe it would show as the number increase in the Defender entry.)

Is there a way to check if programs close properly?
