Quite easily, depending on the cell phone. If it's a smart phone, your friend should have a USB to (mini-usb or whatever apple's flavour of the month is) cable. That would be the easiest way to address the issue; transfer it directly to the phone.

Plug it into a USB port in your computer. Alternatively, you can send it over via SSH/SCP/rsync. That does get more technical if you don't know what SSH, SCP, or rsync is.

Usually, you can use the USB cable to deal with it.

If you are iphone user, use iTunes. if you are android phone users, the process could be much easier, you just need a USB cable and transfer your files.
