how do I calibrate my battery if it will not charge

my battery says plug in but not charging I have tried to calibrate it and it will not calibrate does this mean my battery is bad.

you probably need a new battery. Use this software: http://www.passmark.com/products/batmon.htm
its free for personal use, and see if your battery actually has any life left on it. This program will tell you the percentage of life left on the battery. if it reads 10% or less, you need a new battery.
