how do i change my function button setting on my toshiba satelite l40d

i dont want to have to push fn everytime i want to turn up or down my music. this goes the smae for pause and play. can anyone help with an easy fix

Hi,

On some Toshiba laptops the Function key has 2 modes Special function Mode and Standard F1-F12. So you need Special function mode so you won't have to press fn every time.
- Click Start then All Programs and Tools & Utilities
- Click on HWSETUP and once open just select Special function mode then click Apply and OK.
