how do i charge the battery?

have a new battery for my dell 1545...how does it charge and how can i tell what battery life is left or if it has charged?

Dell batteries usually have a gauge built into them. It would be 5 lights and a button. Push the button and the lights should light up, showing the approximate charge.

As for charging the battery, just slap it into your laptop in place of the current battery to charge it.
