how do i connect a Sony DVD Home Theatre System to Dish Network (receiver DP311)?

you should list what inputs and outputs both have...

Your dish receiver has L/R analog audio outputs so that is how you would connect it to the Sony if it has an analog input. You might need a cable with 2 RCA plugs on one end and stereo mini plug on the other. Check the manual for the Sony.
