I'm trying to connect our Sony Stereo LBT-ZX66i to our new tv Sony KDL60W630B. The new tv is lacking the "audio out" that the old one had. We bought an optical cable and still can't get it to work. Any tips?
You can connect the headphone out on the side of the TV to the stereo. I think you can set this as line level out in the TV menu but it not just keep the volume of the TV down so it doesn't overload the input of the stereo.
If you have to use the optical audio output you will need a DAC to convert to analog http/www.parts-express.com/parts-express-dac-digital-to-analog-converter-(51-compatible)--180-999
