how do i connect my sony playstation 3 to a vga monitor

I have a 19 inch LG flatron w1942s screen and bought a AP-Link hdmi to vga adapter to connect my playstation 3 to my screen and the message i get is : out of range 67.3khz / 60Hz .What should i do from here .

Have you tried resetting the PS3?

Press and hold the power button until it shuts off, then release.
Press the power button.

Did you go into the display settings and changed it to the right output?
