IF the DVD player has wifi built in and there is a Sony app then you don't need anything.
IF not then you could get a Logitech Harmony Hub and App to control it and all your other gear.

Does the manual says there is an App for this DVD player? U don't say what make/model so we can't even look it up if we wanted to.
