How do I fix my white screen laptop? Nothing else appears except for white screen

Just upgraded to windows 10 few days a go. I was watching a video on YouTube, suddenly the laptop was lagged and the screen turned white . I restarted my lappy. Now my screen is white with gray stripes. How do I fix this? Or should I get a new one? Thank you.

remove the battery from laptop, disconnect the power adapter from laptop then hold the power button down for a 20 count. reinstall battery & turn laptop on.
