How do I get my headseat mic to work with the Y50?

Hi so I've had this y50 for a while and I am using a Razer Kraken Pro head set. But I found out that the mic on the headset dosent pick up my voice but instead the mic on the laptop does. Any advice on how to fix this?

Rt click on the speaker icon down by the system clock. Select 'Recoding Devices' and see if your mic is listed. If it is set it as the default.
