How do I get the keyboard working. Only the numbers work. no other icons.

Does it work in the BIOS? You may also want to list the laptop brand and model? Do you have a separate number pad and those numbers work, or the numbers over the keys? Did you try re-seating the keyboard? Did anything happen before the issue started like maybe someone spilled a cup of coffee on it? People sometimes leave important details out.
