Can't be specific since you didn't give us model numbers.
You need to get the audio from the TV into the HTS.
1. If the TV and HTS both have ARC (audio return channel) then the HDMI cable that connects the HTS to the TV HDMI- ARC input will make that connection. Turn ARC on in the TV and select it as you input on the HTS.
2. If the TV has audio outputs then use those. You may need to convert from coax digital to optical digital or from either of those to analog audio depending on the inputs available on the HTS.
3. If you don't have audio outs on the TV then you would need to connect the DTV basic box directly to the HTS. If it has audio outputs then it would connect as in 2. If it only has HDMI out you can use an HDMI audio extractor to provide an audio output for the HTS.
