How do I set up 5.1 surround sound speakers on my PC?

I'm considering purchasing a 5.1speaker system by Logitech that comes with front side and back side sattelies, a front sattelite and a subwoofer.

I need someone to clear the following up for me... I'm crap with audio..

My computer has FRONT, REAR, AND SUB/CENTRE outputs.

I'm assuming the front will cover the front left and right speaker?
Same applies to the rear output?

But the sub/centre output I don't quite understand, I need a wire to go from the pc to the sub and the centre speaker, but there is only 3 outputs and not 4? Surely I need one output for the centre and another for the sub? Or does the wire going from my PC have RCA connectors for the sub AND the centre speaker on the other end?

Was it the x-540s you were looking at?

i think the sub/center output has three prongs on the pin.
one for the center channel
one for the subwoofer
and one for ground (used by both of them)
