Hi! I was looking around at google's updates like the 4.4.4 or the 4.4.3 and I thought it is pretty impressive. So, I wondered if my Samsung galaxy nexus phone could upgrade to a better Google "experience" to like 4.4.3 or at least like 4.2.2. Is it possible? Thanks :D

If you are looking to modify any android device try XDA's website, if you haven't already. Sign up and log in and enter your device and type in what it is you want to do. Download one of the Android Toolkits and make a backup of your ROM. That way any trouble can be fixed by flashing that backup. 4.4.2 is out for Galaxy now but I would imagine someone over there has a 4.4.4 ROM ported you could flash.

The Galaxy Nexus was the first device to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich,[37] introducing a large number of new features and improvements.[38] Beginning from 11 July 2012, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean began rolling out to the GSM Galaxy Nexus as an over-the-air (OTA) update.[39] The 4.2 update began rolling out on 13 November 2012 to the GSM Galaxy Nexus Takju/Maguro variant (smartphones sold in the USA and directly supported by Google) as an (OTA) update. Google started rolling out the update to the international version (Yakju/Maguro) a week later. Towards the end of December, however, not all phones had received the update. On 19 March 2013 Verizon Wireless began updating OTA their CDMA Galaxy Nexus Mysid/Toro variant to Android 4.2.2.[40]

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was released for GSM models on 24 July 2013,[41] and Sprint began OTA updates on 31 October 2013.[42]

Google has stated that the Galaxy Nexus will not receive Android 4.4 KitKat,[43] even after having 14,000 signatures requesting it.[44] New drivers may allow unofficial Android versions to be available for the device.[45]

Canonical's Ubuntu Touch operating system is also available and supported on the Galaxy Nexus.[46][47]

So it seems 4.4 is not available on your device.

See this thread about updating to 4.3: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/qifpN8M5MTo

Hello All,

I Updated my Galaxy Nexus i9250 to 4.3 using Galaxy Nexus Toolkit 11.2.0, available from skipsoft.net.

First you have to update 4.2.1 to 4.2.2.
Then you go to upate from 4.2.2 to 4.3.

Try it...

EDIT: You can update it to 4.4.2 you're fine with rooting the phone: http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/531136/20131219/manually-update-samsung-galaxy-nexus-i9250-android.htm#.U8SzHPl_t4A
