:hello: I'm planning to buy a Smart TV. I see almost all the brand new TVs are internet connectible. I was wondering if it is useful enough to replace a computer.

I have a LG Smart TV. It's 65 inch LW6500 model from last year. I landed on LG mainly due to its magic motion remote. It looks like Wiimote and works like a mouse. There's a censor in the remote so that I can just point and click on the TV screen which makes much easier to navigate through on the Smart TV. Ever since I got the TV, I ditched my laptop and started to google and facebook on my LG Smart TV everyday. The recent firmware update also makes it like 3x faster than b4.

Thinking about getting one too and leaning towards LG. I read articles about LG's upgraded remote with additional features. Voice recognition will make it much easier to put in letters instead of typing every single letter. There is a wheel you can go through menu a lot quicker. I'm waiting for it to release. Anyone know when it will be?

Is it the new LG Smart TV remote you're talking about? Plus, it has a QWERTY keyboard in the back. Take a look at the photos linked below. It looks cool but what is it for when it has the voice recognition feature? Just curious….

The magic remote with QWERTY is only for LG's google TV. There's a different remote for LG Smart TVs. Check out the article I linked. It looks slightly different from the old one that I got last year. No words on price or availability yet. I hope it is comopatible with my LG Smart TV.
