Have some off grid power capability, grow your own food, collect your own water and trust in a dependable human powered vehicle.Albert Einstein never owned a passenger car but rode a bicycle instead (You have to be intelligent to know why passenger cars are one of the greatest follies of mankind and one of the worst most destructive inventions ever devised ).

I know right? And what about them airplanes? I tell you, if God wanted us to fly he would've given us wings! Being able to travel beyond your little town and see other people and places? Know the world? Actually communicate with the rest of the planet? That's the devil's work I tell you!

Go back to your cave please...

Einstein worked at princeton, his home is on the modern day campus of princeton. If i lived that close to work, i'd bike everyday too. However, with cities expanding, and businesses moving out of cities, the average commute is now 30 minutes. No way you can bike that within a reasonable amount of time. You'd waste your whole day biking to and from work, when you could be spending time with your family.

While i do agree, people should get some solar or a wind turbine and every house should produce a little of it's own energy.

Over half the Earth's Petroleum has been used up,gone, wasted, squandered not to return for another 5 million years because of unthinking humans only slightly more intelligent than bacteria living in media in a Petri dish not realizing that once the media is used up they will all die.Petroleum reserves on Earth expected to become depleted by the mid 21st century. With hydraulic fracturing obtaining petroleum could be extended a few more decades though water wells would be devastatingly polluted in the end .Without petroleum fuels Internal Combustion Engines won't work meaning ICE motor vehicles will become permanently immobile along with prop and jet aircraft.
You could substitute Biofuels except that's a myth because it's a choice between growing food for humans to survive or to squander using those monstrous energy inefficient machines.Without Natural Gas reserves expected to also become depleted no synthetic fertilizers would exist using the Haber-Bosch process meaning that most of the Earth's population will starve too.Electic cars won't be practical as a substitute because they would overwhelm the world's electrical supply system which will also become more depleted in the future too (no glaciers on Mountains in the future (global climate change) no hydroelectic dams).
You could opt for coal powered steam powered cars.Either way it's just an extended disaster
Motor vehicles and other human activities are responsible for much of the Anthropocene six extinction event where 150 to 200 species are going extinct every day dwarfing even the previously largest Permian-Triassic extinction event. This will lead to the extinction of mankind itself. Also Motor vehicles and aircraft are a major source of catastrophic Global climate change along with ocean acidification.Basically the burning of petroleum fuels is to life on planet Earth what Tobacco cigarettes are to Humans.
It's been shown that motors vehicles push destinations farther apart working against the purpose of motor vehicles due to cities requiring over half their space for unsustainable infrastructure and especially parking.
(Source car free cities on Youtube).
Over a million direct immediate accident deaths are due to motor vehicles worldwide yet the emissions from motor vehicles kills more and one and a half million die from the poisonous and carcinogenic emissions. This does not include severe maiming and disabilities dues to vehicular accidents which dwarf this by nearly a magnitude larger in victims. Also Noise from motor vehicles contribute to stress and heart attacks (source car free cities on YToutube). The number of heart attack deaths due to motor vehicle noise is unknown.
Suicide is insanity. Motor Vehicles are a huge contributor in immediate deaths and the extinction of mankind itself will be in large part to unsustainable practices such as using motor vehicles. Therefore motor vehicles and their users are either ignorant or insane.

jj463rd, you need to get your tin-foil hat adjusted. First of all, there is no way to 'use up' oil. They are going back to older, supposedly tapped out oil fields and finding more oil. More than can be explained by just the rocks shifting and oil being released to percolate up.
So, somehow this planet of ours is creating more and more oil every second of every single day. If we would start with some better fuel economy standards (I say we should be up to 60mpg by now in regular gasoline powered vehicles) we could easily make it so that we can wait for the Earth to make more oil.
We are not 'driving the dinosaurs' as some people like to say.

This is so hard to deal with if the whole town lacks security against cyber attacks. There should be a good network security installed, both in major businesses, government offices, as well as your home. You'll never know when the threat of hackers will come up, better be on the safe side and be prepared.

Not really, the theory of PEAK OIL is still true regardless of your claims. The cost to drill and pump oil will be significantly higher than supply at some point. At that point, oil will cost too much for most people to use, causing tons of societal problems because we're so heavily reliant on our quick, fast, and affordable transportation.
