Hy to all!!
In the i-mate jam manual there is the description of how
to translate your hand-writing into ms word text....it is
written to select your hand write text and than to
select "recognize" option in the instruments or modify or
pop-up menu.....BUT.....on my jam there is no "recognize"
option neither in the instruments or modify menu nor in
the pop-up one.....
Someone could teach me how to solve this issue????
Thanks in advance!!

There are actually four "writing" recognizers...

block recognizer (input icon lower right)
character recognizer (input icon)
transcriber (input icon)
"writing" (view/writing) then (tools/recognize)

Note, for "writing" suggest starting at a high (300%) zoom setting...
you need to "stay witin the lines"

For the first three, when selected, tap the "?" or "i" icon to pull up
demonstrations.

Ok, next question, what app are you in when you generate the handwriting?

I'm in the "notes" app (start->programs->notes or new-
>note)

>> in notes <<

OK.... I'm stumped... every device I have ever seen has "recognize" as
the top selection on the notes' tools menu.

OK.....I'm stumped too....is it possible to know why my
device doesen't have this "recognize" option?
It is possible to re-install the italian operating system
that include this feature? If yes, where can I find it?
Thanks a lot for your time!
Regards

Francesco

It would be a good idea to try and find an Italian Pocket PC forum to ask
about this - it may be that that feature is simply not available on some
non-English versions of Pocket PC.

For what it's worth, I doubt you'll end up using that feature anyway - you
have to write so carefully to get anything like useable recognition accuracy
that it tends to be much quicker to use the letter recognizer. Your mileage
may vary though.
