How to Adjust the Resolution of a Windows PC

The resolution on your computer determines the quality of what you see on your screen. A higher resolution is made up of more pixels and creates a better picture, and a lower resolution is the opposite. You can change the resolution in your Windows computer whenever you want.

Step 1
Click on the Start button which is in the corner of the menu bar on the bottom of your screen. A menu should appear. Locate the “Control Panel” option and click on that to open. If you are using Windows 8 you want to right click on your Start menu and choose “Control Panel” from there.

Step 2
Once in the Control Panel go to “Appearance and Personalization” page. From here you want to click on the “Adjust screen resolution” option under the “Display” subheading.

Step 3
Once on the resolution page you should see a drop down menu. The menu, when selected, is a bar that you can drag until you find your desired resolution. Once you have decided on a resolution, lick the “Apply” button on the bottom right of the page. You have just changed the resolution on your computer.

Recap
To change your screen resolution you have to go into your Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Adjust screen resolution. From there you can choose what you like and then apply to your computer. The higher the resolution, the better the quality of the picture on your screen.
