How to Automatically Close Background Activities in Android

Just like any Windows PC, Android devices also keep the activities of some important apps running even if they have been closed by users.

Although many times this default configuration is useful as users can bring back the closed apps up again instantaneously, the activities that keep running consume some percentage of the memory and processing power of your smart device. This might decrease the overall performance of your gadget gradually, hence forcing you to either restore your Android device to the factory defaults, or to manually perform some optimization tasks at regular intervals which might be complicated and time-consuming.

In order to avoid all the above hassles and performance issues, it is important to take a proactive step which includes configuring your Android device to automatically close all the activities as soon as you close their corresponding apps.

Here is how you can configure your Android device to automatically close the activities that are not in use:

■Switch on your Android smartphone by pressing the power button.
■Tap the menu icon to go to the apps list.



■On the displayed interface, tap Settings.



■From the Settings window, under the SYSTEM section, tap Developer options from the bottom.



■Once the Developer options interface comes up, from the top-right corner, slide to set Developer options toggle button to ON.
■On the same interface, under the APPS section, tap to check the Don’t keep activities checkbox in order to close the running activities automatically when they are not in use.
