How to Check for iPhone Updates

Apple keeps releasing iOS updates for its devices, and it is strongly recommended to check for and update your iDevice regularly in order to get a flawless performance.
To check for and install the updates, your iPhone or iPad must be connected to the Internet, preferably via a Wi-Fi network.
Also, depending on the model of your iDevice, Internet bandwidth, and the size of the update, it may take from a few to several minutes to download and install the update.
Here’s how you can check for, download, and install the latest iOS updates on your iPhone or iPad:
    Get to the General window
    Tap Settings > General. This opens the General window. From here you can manage all the general settings, most of which are effective throughout your iDevice.

    Check for and install the updates
    Tap Software Update, wait for your iDevice to check for any available updates on the Software Update window, and tap Download and Install. This starts downloading the available update on your device, and installs it automatically when the download completes.

    Confirm the current status of your iOS device

Tap Settings > General > Software Update, and on the Software Update window, ensure that your device’s software is up to date. Doing so confirms that your device is updated, and you can now expect a flawless performance and optimum security of your data from your iPhone or iPad.
