How to conduct exposure tests on a digital camera

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

Use manual settings (not Auto) and diligently keep track of the exposures by using a numbering card in the picture. Enter all data on a spreadsheet such as Excel.

If you are doing this indoors, use a tape measure to measure the distance between the sensor plane of focus and the object. The plane of focus will be marked on the camera body.

There is a certain level of subjectivity involved in interpreting the results.
