How to configure where newly opened programs/pop up messages will show?

Hello!

I connected my TV to my computer and I set it up as second monitor. Generally my TV is off and I do not use it as a real second monitor for doing my work/studying/gaming. I only use it to watch movies from the bed. Sometimes when I open the second or the third Excel sheet(happens with any other program), then it opens up on the TV(which is off). So I have to turn it on, change from tv to hdmi input, and pull back the newly opened program. It also happens with pop up messages :/ It is quite annoying, do you have any suggestion to solve this problem?

It will remember the last window location. As long as you shut down the program and computer properly it should remember last location. Before closing the program, make sure your items are on the main monitor.

It seems your OS / computer does not recognise that the TV is off (and therefore not available)., so just unplug the HDMI cable when not in use.

Sadly it is not always true :/ Usually when I open the first word document it opens on my monitor(last location), but when I open the second(and do not close the first before that) then it appears on my TV :/

Move that second document over to the main screen then close Word, does it continue to go to the second screen?

Is the cable always connected to the TV even when it's off? What happens if you disconnect the TV cable when it's not being used?
