How to connect a computer speaker wire to plug

Hello,
I want want to connect my computer speaker wires to a new conector. I have stereo a connector with what appears to be three connection points. What do I do?

Assume the connector you're talking about is the mini-jack type that is also used for iPod type headphones.

Looking at the male connector plug, the tip is positive signal (left channel) the ring under the tip is positive signal (right channel), the body of the plug is common (negative).
