How to Connect a Sound Bar to your TV

Many modern day TVs can produce low-quality sound. One way to fix this is by connecting a sound bar to your TV. These come in a variety of options.

Step 1: Choose the sound bar best for your TV based on the width and your price range, as well as reviews that you can find easily online.

Step 2: Once you have your sound bar it’s time to hook it up. The first thing you should do is make sure you have a good place to position it. You either want to mount it on top of your TV or set it on the table in front of the TV. Either way the sound bar needs to be close to the top or the bottom of the TV.

Step 3: Now make sure you read the manual that came with it, so you have a good understanding of what you are doing. Most sound bars have an HDMI hook up, and this is your best option.

Step 4: Your TV should have at least one HDMI port –if it has more than that you want to look for the one that says, “ARC” by it. This is the port you want to use. Turn off your TV and all other connected devices, and then plug your HDMI cable into your TV and then find the HDMI port on your sound bar. Plug the other end of your cord into that.

Step 5: Power your devices back on and then pick up your remote. There should be a “source” button on it that you need to press so you can adjust your settings. Keep pressing the source button until you find the correct input. Once you find it, you’re done.
