Stereo receivers usually have a pair of connections for a tape recorder which includes an input for playback and an output for tape recording of other sources. It could also be for a VCR in an older av receiver.

Do yourself a favor, and use either the receiver (with appropriate speakers), or the soundbar (connecting the sound source directly to it). These two are not designed to work together, even if they will.
