How to connect ear buds to my TV

I have an 49UF6400 and would like to use my ear buds with the tv. How would I do this?

There should be an audio jack on the side or back where a person would plug speakers in but instead put the earphones in.

Depends on the TV, some TVs support output to home theater. Some TVs have bluetooth which makes it easy for any Bluetooth headset to connect. It all comes down to your model.
