How to connect external speakers to laptop

You can only hookup self-powered (has a wall plug) speakers to laptops, either through a 3.5mm or RCA cable.

Is very simple. What kind of audio output jack does your laptop has, 3.5mm without fail. What kind of jack do your speakers have. Buy a cable to connect those 2.

If you have only the speakers from this Coby CXCD-380, you will need some amplifier to feed them with laptop' output.
