Solved! How to connect Onkyo reciever to smart tv.

I have a TCL smart tv and would like to connect it to my ONKYO TX-8050 Receiver, Thanks for the help.

The TV should have an optical audio output. The receiver has an optical audio input. Connect them with a toslink optical audio cable.
Turn the optical output on in the TV menu. You will probably have to set the output to PCM stereo and may also have to turn the TV speakers off to get it working.
