I have a Lenovo tablet that frequently and randomly kicks me out whatever app I happen to be using and goes into a reboot loop. I saw the answer about starting in safe mode, but how can I determine the cause? I have cleared the delvik cashe more than once. It only helps for a short period of time and every time I clear it I lose data.

Solution
That is very odd. If you can't get in via "Safe Mode" You may well have to do a "Hard Reset". However, as noted before, that will wipe the device. You may want to try taking it to a local tech prior to doing that, should you wish to try and save anything on it.
So then have you tried "Safe Mode"? And, if you did, did it work fine in that mode? If it did work fine, then you have a bad app, virus, malware, etc. on the device and that is what you need to look at removing. Clearing the cache won't do that. Try running antivirus and antimalware on it first and see if that helps. If not, then I would start looking at installed apps. Not the ones that came with the device, but ones you added. You may well have to uninstall them and then restart the tablet (turn it off and back on) to see if removing the app(s) will resolve this.

If those don't work, than a full on "Hard Reset" may be needed. Which then you would want to back up any personal files first. Off of the tablet as that data would be wiped.

Now, if you tried the "Safe Mode" and it didn't work fine in that, and the problem still showed up, then you may well need to go straight to a "Hard Reset".

To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.

1. First turn off the tablet.

2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.

3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.

4. If you wanted disable it, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see "Safe Mode: OFF" rather than on.

NOTE: Doing this will clear 'all' the data on your tablet, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the device.

Be sure you back up any data you want to keep, to a computer or cloud account, before doing the reset.

To "Hard Reset" the tablet...

1. Make sure that the tablet is actually powered off.

2. Remove your SD card, if there is one in the device.

3. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

4. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

5. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

6. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

7. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

8. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the tablet.

9. If you took your SD card out in step 2, when the device is up and running again, reinsert the SD card.

Nothing. It just reboots. It doesn't give me any message that says safe mode on, or anything else. Then it can take hours before I can get it turned off again.
