How to disable built in microphone on acer aspire 5552

I hate the built in microphone always being active in my acer aspire 5552. Does anyone know how to disable the damn thing?? I only want a microphone to be active when I choose to plug it in to the microphone port. I'm running Windows 7 on this laptop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Click Start/Windows button. Search Sound and then go into recording and disable microphone. *You may have to activate even when plugging in a micophone*

Well, that was amazingly simple. I did have to configure to use an external microphone, and yes, you are correct in as much as i have to enable the microphone to use it. But, that's fine. Thanks for your input.
