How to Disable the Auto Play Option on your Amazon Fire Stick

While scrolling down your favorite pool of content on your Amazon Fire Stick, each thumbnail starts playing highlights if you pause on it long enough. While this can be useful to check the content or genre of a particular movie or series, it becomes equally irritating when it starts to play out of nowhere. This problem is faced in almost all content platforms, even in Netflix. Thankfully, the Fire Stick has an option to disable the auto play of content. Let’s walk through this easy step of turning off the auto play option.

Step 1
Go to ‘Settings’
From your Home screen in Fire TV, navigate over to the 'Settings' and click on it.

Step 2
Click on the ‘Preferences’ Option
With lots of options in front of you, scroll to the side and click on ‘Preferences’. It should take you to another list of options.

Step 3
Go to ‘Featured Content’
Click on ‘Featured Content’ in the list of options. It will further take you to two crucial options which are the final steps of the entire process.

Step 4
Disable ‘Allow Video Autoplay’ option
In the two options, one is for audio, and one is video. You need to turn off both to disable Autoplay. Click on ‘Allow Video Autoplay’ and turn it off.

Step 5
Disable ‘Allow Audio Autoplay’ option
After turning off the video option, disable ‘Allow Audio Autoplay’ too.

Step 6
Navigate back to Home Screen
Once you are done disabling the Autoplay, go back to the home screen. You will find the Autoplay has been disabled. As annoying as the autoplay of the videos may get, equally easier it is to put it off.
