How to Export Bookmarks to Your New MacBook Pro

Bookmarks a great way to remember websites. It’s basically a way of saving webpage addresses for future reference. When you get a new MacBook Pro, you want to know how to transfer your bookmarks. Simply follow these steps to learn how.

1. Open Browser
Open the browser in which the bookmarks have been saved on your old laptop. You will be able to access the stored bookmarks for transfer.

2. Go to the ‘File Menu’
On the top left of your browser window, you will see the File tag. Click on it. The File drop-down menu will appear.

3. Select ‘Export Bookmark’
Click on ‘Export Bookmarks’. You will be taken to a screen where you can choose where you want to export your bookmarks to.

4. Choose ‘Location and Save’
Choose the location where you want to save your bookmarks and then click 'Save'. Your bookmarks will be saved in that location.
When you are transferring the bookmarks to a new MacBook Pro, choose to save them to an external drive.

5. Open Import Bookmarks screen in Your New MacBook Pro browser
Open a browser in your new MacBook Pro and select the ‘File Option’. It will be on the top left of the screen. Select ‘Import Bookmarks’ from the drop-down list. A screen will appear showing the files in the storage devices on your MacBook Pro.
Before proceeding, make sure you have connected the external drive holding your old bookmarks.

6. Choose and Import the Saved Bookmarks
Navigate to the saved bookmarks on your external drive. Select the Bookmark file in .html format and click on 'Import'. Your old bookmarks will be imported to the browser on your new MacBook Pro.
