Yelp is a mobile app which allows users to review local businesses. The app allows you to find businesses near your location. Yelp is not available in some countries. If you are not familiar how to use this app, this simple tutorial will help you find nearby businesses using the Yelp smartphone app:
1. First, download the app from the Play Store. Once the installation is finished, go to your phone screen and tap the Yelp app to launch it. Then, create an account to start using the app.
2. To start your search, tap "Nearby" on the main menu of the app. After tapping that, it will give you different business categories, such as restaurants, bars, coffee, and more. Tap the type of business you want to look for.
3. After tapping a certain category, you will get either a list or a Google map-like interface which shows you all the nearby businesses near you including an overview of that business including the ratings and whether they are open or closed.
4. Tapping each business will give you a more detailed information about the business, like the phone number and address. You can even get the directions just in case you are not familiar with the place.
5. Another way of finding nearby businesses is using a feature in Yelp called augmented reality where you can use your phone's built-in camera to find businesses near you. Just tap the "Monocle" icon found on the main menu and hold up your phone like you're taking some pictures. Virtual push pins will appear on your screen if there is a search result nearby.
