My CPU temperature goes 80C while idling or while using chrome, I am using a ROG GL503VD laptop.

redo the thermal paste, clean the fan

Clean out your fans and heatsinks with compressed air and if it's been a year or two, clean off your old thermal paste with some isopropyl alcohol and give it a fresh application.
