How to Fix If When Netflix Loads but Won’t Play

Netflix has a massive library with movies and shows of varied genres, and playing any of the content is easy. But there are times it fails to play, even when Netflix itself is loading just fine and you can browse through the library. Even after reloading and signing in, the problem rarely gets solved. The entire situation is frustrating and here’s how you can fix that.

1.) Open 'Menu'
Open the "Menu" in your browser you are using to view Netflix. For Google Chrome, select the three dots in the top right corner of the browser. A drop-down list will appear.

5.) Open 'Protected Content'
In the Content settings page, select the "Protected Content" option. This will be at the end of the page, so scroll down if you do not see it at first. The Protected Content page with two options will appear. They are "Allow Sites to Play Protected Content" and "Allow Identifiers For Protected Content".

6.) Unblock the Protected Content
Click on the toggle bar on the right of "Allow Sites to Play Protected Content", so the faded grey toggle bar turns into blue. This will unblock protected content on your browser. Also turn on "Allow Identifiers for Protected Content’ if it was turned off. Your Netflix content will start loading without any blockage.

In addition, check with your network administrator whether streaming Netflix is allowed on the network.
