how to fix samsung galaxy tab e sm-t561 blank screen problem

Please help:
My samsung galaxy tab e sm-t561 is brand new from the box. After charging it for about an hour the screen went completely blank. I have tried all the suggestions and combinations of pressing - power + volume + home screen buttons. I have also tried charging the tablet in the power socket as well as on the PC; again while pressing all the button combinations. The only thing I get is a blank screen and an occasional purple screen that stays on for about 3 seconds and then a blank screen again. Sometimes while the power button is pressed, I will get the Samsung sound-like- chime and again all goes blank. No logo, no android just blank.
Please help...

If it's brand new, contact support for where you go it from or from Samsung.
