how to fix Toshiba Satellite mother broad l850

my laptop stopped working one day black screen sounds like some think was working took it to the shop he said mother board was got wet need new one but it never go wet and when i opened it up there was no residue there my mate reckons they are conning me ?? how do i fix it

Yeah the shop is probably conning you out of money, (that's what these fishy computer repair shops do) and they charge you a bomb for small things!

Anyway, about your issue.

Can you elaborate on the issue you are having? Is the computer on and are the fans running when there is a black screen or does the computer not turn on at all.

black screen turns on fan went and the lights saying it was on can hear it working but thats it i thought i had pushed a button to turn the screen off some how but na it was not that thanks for your help

Hey,

You may have pressed a button which changed the display to only have it shown on an external display and not the display on your laptop.

Look at the F1, F2 ,F3 options etc at the top of the keyboard and see if there is any with like monitor on, like two screens. If you find one with that.

Press FN on your keyboards and then press the display key, try it a couple of times and the screen should turn on.
