how to fix unsupported type

I have a LG phone from MetroPCS and I had download some videos onto my SD card in my phone. When I go to watch the videos which I downloaded onto my SD card, it would say video is unsupported type and cannot play video how can I fix this does anyone know how to correct this problem?

download videos that your lg phone support.
Where did you download the video from? do they give you a choice?
